Lesson Plans for "Watch, Listen & Speak"

 

 

Listening & Speaking, In Class Test No. 2:

"Prepared Speaking"

 



Instructions: Choose ONE of the following topics:

"The impact of music lyrics on children."

"Cloning - Ethically wrong?"

"Every coin has two sides."

"Two parents are better than one."

"You are what you wear."

"Why sports people make good role models."

"Extra-curricular activities - good or bad for students?"


Prepare a speech using one of the given topics: The speech should be no longer than 5 minutes. You can use some notes, but reading is not acceptable. Begin with an introduction and end with a conclusion. You should state facts, opinions and reasons. Marks will be awarded for originality and enthusiasm.

 

Assessment: This test is worth 15% of this course.

 

Grades are awarded as follows:

  • Preparation & Structure - 30%

  • Suitability of Material - 10%

  • Facts, Opinions & Reasons - 30%

  • Fluency, Intonation & Pronunciation - 30%
